Struggling! Help!

Options
Hey guys! So I’m struggling lately! My weight has been up & down lately and I can’t seem to get on track! I’ve been bouncing from 176-178lbs. I’ve thought about lowering my calories from 1,700 to 1,500 but I don’t feel like I can function on that low of calories! The past 2 Saturday’s I’ve stopped tracking at night & ate/drank a little more freely. My work outs are less consistent and I feel like I can’t focus! My wedding is in 3 weeks & I want to feel good again! Should I start lowering my calories?

If the thought of lowering by 200 calories is too much, don’t. That’s the best way to fail!

You did admit yourself you weren't very good at tracking in the last few days, so maybe get back on that instead. Same for the workout.

Congrats on the wedding btw! You might be stressed about that big event coming up which can make you less focus, irritable, eat more etc. Try relaxing, sleeping more of needed... if you don’t feel like exercising and you have the munchies, try going for a walk. You don’t sweat much but at least it will distract you for a bit!

    Good luck!

Are you getting enough protein? I find it hard to stay in plan when I don’t

    Fix this first.

Yep - probably no need to reduce your calories, tighten up your logging and make sure you are eating within your current calorie goals. Being more consistent with exercise can also help with feeling healthier - feeling healthier often helps me be more diet aware and therefore eat better. If friends want to socialise and you feel a bit pressurised to drink (and eat) more just remind them you want to look your best on your big day. Most of all congratulations on your wedding - enjoy!

Keep in mind if you did lose more than a pound or two you might be on the hook for some very expensive alterations for your wedding!

This is a stressful time. Keep logging but if the big day is a couple weeks away there won't be a huge change anyway. I found it was so stressful I couldn't even think of losing weight then, maybe try to stay where you are calorie wise and start to lose again after?

Try to cut back on the carbs a bit and bring up your protein. I find that whenever my carb macro gets too high I am out of control. I think stress is definately a factor too. Try going for a walk when the urge to eat gets too strong so you can destress and see if that helps. I agree that you must track your food better to help you keep on track but in a few weeks it will get better so at this point I would just try to maintain. And congratulations! Enjoy your day.
