First off, thanks for reading! I have been using Fitbit and mfp for a few Months now and i have a nagging feeling I’m doing something wrong. It’s about logging. 1) Fitbit tracks steps and adds it into “exercise” on mfp. Based on the number, it can increase your calorie alotment, correct? So should i eat less than alotment to lose weight?
And B) let’s say I do 10,000 steps and it syncs and adds calories, BUT I also do a 60 minute boxing class. Does it sync that after I push the button to start workout OR am I supposed to manually log in the calories on MfP I read on Fitbit after I stop workout? I dont know if I’m getting credit for both Steps and exercise or if I don’t log my class if I’m not getting credit for that.
My reasoning is I hit a plateau after losing 30 lbs (yay!) and mfp calories have me at 1200/day. So i can’t tell if I’m stuck because I’m supposed to be eating more and Fitbit is only logging my steps not boxing and I’m under eating. Make sense?
Thanks so much for helping and i appreciate your Fitbit expertise!

    1. Ideally you should be eating the calories MFP gives you plus your entire Fitbit adjustment. Some people find the adjustment is overstated, though.
    2. (And I think you typed B instead) Your calorie adjustment includes whatever exercise you tracked on Fitbit. It's actually based on your total burn up until your last sync, which includes exercise, general activity, and BMR. But you won't see individual exercises come over.

As for your plateau...how long have you been stuck at this weight? How are you measuring your calorie intake? You won't stop losing because you aren't eating enough.

Thank u! So I won’t manually add my exercise, I’ll just assume it is being added. And I have been stuck for about 4 weeks at the same weight. I started December 1st and lost 30 and just seemed to stop. I’m keeping with my calorie limit, sometimes less, so I may have to switch something up. I just don’t want to get frustrated and assume this is me. I still have almost 30lbs to go. Ugh.
