Not really new, and have a question

Hi,

I have been working hard on here since New year's, and today I hit the 10 lb weight loss, which was awesome. But then the program wanted to recalculate my goals, and took away 60 calories a day? Shouldn't I get to eat more because I have upped by metabolism by working out 6 days a week?

I am sure someone else has asked this question, and if someone can post the thread I can check it. It is only 60 calories, but d$%n :sad:

    From what I understand, bigger bodies take more calories to maintain. So, you will find that you are able to eat less calories as you lose. Sorry:sad:

    But, if you are working out that much, you should have lots of exercise calories to eat, yes?
  • Unfortunately, as you start eating healthier, shedding pounds and exercising more... your body becomes more efficient and needs less calories. The more physically fit you become, the harder it will become to burn your calories during exercise, too. And your metabolism will slow a little because your resting heart rate will go down...

    But this is all a good thing! You're doing great on your journey so far! Don't fret over 60 calories. You can do this. :wink:

  • Thanks for the replies, and I do understand. But it seemed like an unpleasant reward for losing 10 lbs.:smile:
  • Well, yeah, it's kind of crappy... but I found after my first 2.5 weeks I wasn't losing anything. I've been at a stand still for almost 3 weeks now. I'm happy that I haven't gained, but I was on a good roll there in the beginning. So I decided to change my weekly goal to 1 lb per week instead of 2 and it has given me more calories to eat. Hopefully I will start to see results again soon.

    When you are close to your target weight (10-20 lbs) your body tries to hold on harder and longer to the extra fat... it's a survival instinct.
