So I've hit a serious plateau and I'm considering increasing my calorie intake to see if that will help. I'm training for a marathon and running and crosstraining 5-6 days per week. Has anyone had success by increasing their calorie intake???

I've kickstarted my loss after a 3 week stall twice now by upping my calories... I didn't get to weight over 300 lbs by eating 1500 calories, and I wasn't losing very well eating around that point, once I got my calories back up to around my current goal of 2000 the weight loss was moving along nicely.

Over the past two weeks i have increased my calorie intake from around 1200 to between 1300-1500 and have lost 2.2 lbs last week and 1.5 this week. Few weeks prior to that had been sticking to my 1200 and staying the same and even putting on! Its worth a shot. :)

Yes, when I was stuck during half marathon training I upped my calories, just by a couple hundred. I also made sure not to hit the same calorie total every day. On long run days, I'd do my best to eat more and I'd never weigh in the day after a long run. Your muscles are holding as much water as they can. Drink, drink, drink. Of course, my loss is still slow-but it is staying off.
    Congrats on your training!

I was stuck for two weeks at a time until I upped my calories to 1300. I've done a better job of eating my calories back too. I think if you're training, you should up your calories a bit - I'm sure you're body needs more fuel now that you're working it more. Congrats on making the committment to a marathon!
