I'm making an apron for my 5 year old step daughter and was wondering if I should put more on this apron or leave as is? Again she's 5 and a really prissy child. Any ideas to finish it out?? Thanks!!

I'd add dots around the outer edge of the front. You could do it in the same color paint as the flower and name or if you are really adventurous, could do it with gems and make it all blingy.

Well say no more. I'm 32 and as prissy as can be. What about rhinestones??? Lots of them. Maybe glued onto the trim of the collar of the apron? You wouldn't be able to really see them if you glued them to the whole trim but the top you could.

I saw a tank the other day that said "My favorite color is shiney". Hehe...

If she's like me, she will love all glittery, pink, rhinestones, feathers, etc!! I love the letter font!

I was going to go with the 3D paint for the dots around the edges but I also want to be really decorative with the edges. I thought about rhinestones too!! I may do something like that. This apron is for school though for her arts and crafts stuff. So it also needs to be functional.

Hmmm prissy..... I don't do prissy but only think that comes to mind, how about some ruffles?

Personally I would add something like this but for your version maybe a "princess" themed castle?

DAMMIT I wish I could see the images!!!

I agree with other posts for that lovely "prissy" look..

    Ruffles
    Lace
    Rhinestones
    polka dots

    =)

So I went to Hobby Lobby and bought iron on jewels and dark pink and pink 3D paint with glitter. Anyone know of any good designs I could use around the edges or just dots?

How about frilly lace around the edges? And yes, bedazzle the crap outta the thing.

maybe use the rhinestones to make it look like she has on a fabulous blingy necklace? line them along the tie (halfway up maybe?) and then hanging down the front of the apron with a couple of larger ones in there too?

    UPDATE:

The apron was signed for on Friday, but we still have not heard from her mother as to whether or not my step daughter got the apron and card we sent and whether or not she liked it. We have tried contacting several times but have gotten nothing but a hateful response.

you can add little pockets at the botting and have a trim of a pink feather boa going around the pockets....

I'm sorry, some people are just sh!ts. If it is any consolation, I would have LOVED to have had something like that when I was a kid...and I was a tomboy! :flowerforyou:

I too would have loved that apron, and I'm 5 + 43 years experience.

It was a beautiful gift - I wish you were my step mom!

That is so cute. Your outline is adorable. As, for the response, I hope you get to talk to the girl soon. She might be dancing around in it right now! I would be - 5+41 years!

Well, a 5 year old doesn't pick up the phone to call, so don't worry, she probably LOVES it. It's the adult in charge who is completely rude.
