Hello all, I have been exercising and watching what I eat but for the past few day, my weight has gone up rather than down, can someone explain why.

Also, have you figured out how many calories you should be consuming to be in a deficit, and are you measuring (preferably weighing) your food to be sure that you are in fact in a deficit?5

New to exercise ? then you will experience water weight gains.
When you say you are watching what you eat, are you tracking your meals on this app and staying within the calorie goal given?0 -
weight loss isn't linear1

As others have said, weight loss isn't linear. Do you use a food scale to measure your food?0

Hello, for the record, I do weigh my food and make sure I am way below my calorie intake for my weight. I also walk for 30 min. a day. This week has not been good, it is depressing as the weight increased three days straight.2

You eat very little food. 700-800 calories a day is not a good amount of calories to consume... Also, beside protein, you are not ingesting much, you need nutrients, vitamins, etc to have a balance and healthy died. I don't think 700 calories of protein bar is a sustainable way to loose weight...
Are you sure you are entering everything? You really ate 2 cups of lettuce and a protein bar for lunch, no dressing, drink, etc.7 -
It's been a few days, this is a marathon not a sprint.3

Mariluny, Will eating less calories, between 700 -900 make me gain weight? I am taking multivitamin supplements also. I put on non-calorie dressing. TEDEBEARDUFF, was that comment meant to help me or are u being humorous?6

Eating so little is starving your body of nutrients and energy...All kinds of fun things happen when you do that long enough...hair loss, brittle nails, loss of menstrual cycle, etc...good times...1 -

Is there a reason you are restricting to starvation levels?
Starvation mode is a myth, but that doesn't mean that you get a free pass to not eat. If you're female, you need to eat *at least* 1,200 calories a day. Minimum.
If you're male, you need 1,500. Minimum.1 -
Body chemistry is a weird thing. Are you weighing yourself at the same time every day? Because during the day your body is going to weigh differently. Remember that getting on the scale is just a measurement of that particular moment in time. If you see a trend going upward, figure out what you are doing that is causing it. Look at your food diary and do a little analysis. I generally don't weigh myself every day, because I know I will feel let down by the fluctuation.1

That massive sodium intake a few days ago alone would likely have caused a fair bit of water retention.
And as others have said, you need to eat more.1 -
Your food diary is very scary. If you don't start to eat more you are going to become very ill. The effects of starvation don't hit you immediately. You might feel good now but you will hit the wall sooner or later. When the crash happens and your body is breaking down it is not fun at all.4

Eating so little calories intentionally isn't going to help you fill stop. Weight loss is a marathon, in that it's slow and takes time, and it sounds like you're trying to sprint, and not looking at your eating behaviours which might end up doing you damage. Your body needs nutrients and if you restrict to this extent, your body will go until it can't. Then it will break down. It might help if you learn about proper nutrition and not concentrate on losing weight fast and by any means necessary.5
