I am wanting to maintain my weight after losing 18kg...looking for ideas regarding diet and exercise, do I need to always count calories and exercise like crazy...new to fitness

You need to consume fewer calories than your body uses in order to lose weight and balance them to maintain weight.
You may be able to craft a way of eating that you can follow that leaves you at a calorie balance without logging or you may need to log.
You don't have to exercise in order to lose/maintain weight but it's good for overall body health.1 -

You don't have to exercise at all if you choose to. Exercise is for health, fitness, and body composition.
Some people find they can maintain without logging. Others have to continue to count calories or they'll start gaining again.1
