I’m confused, maybe someone can help. Before when I used this I could put in the food, brand and amount and the calories automatically came up. This time I’m trying to use it but finding that I have to quick add. Am I missing something or does anyone else have this problem? I like the old program better... it was much easier!

Nope, there's a whole database to search from.
If you're on the app, select to add food. You can search for what you want to add and if it's not in your recents/frequents you'll get a prompt to search the database0 -
I don't have any problems searching things, sometimes I'm more specific and sometimes just use generic but there are plenty of foods to choose from when you search for something.0
