Hello, there my name is Dave.

My father died at the age of 56 in 1989.
My Brother Martin died at the age of 56 two weeks ago.
I turn 49 in under two weeks.

I'm 40 kg's overweight.

You think that would be motivation enough... but it doesn't seem to be.

I need to find some motivated people in a group or who want to form a group, any takers?

I live in Wellington NZ, Happily married with 1 son.
:)

I know how simple this may seem, but having to male family members die at the same age should motivate anyone to change a lifestyle. What was the cause of death? Sorry if that is to forward, but if it is weight related then definitely try to change your habits. In my family there is the big cancer on both sides of my mother and father.

If not for you for your wife and son. ;-)

I'm 'so' sorry to hear about your father and brother.
I'd be happy to be in a group to help motivate (& be motivated). I have lots to lose, so I'll be around for a while!

My dad wasn't much older than I am now, getting stents in his heart and all that. That was over 20 years ago and he's still kicking (and a bit of a PITA). You know what you need to do, now it's a matter of priorities -- are you worth it? If yes, then get it. If not, then delete your account here. But you are worth it, I'm sure. Being a little selfish is key to successful health.
