I'm new and at a plateau

I have lost a stone in 6 weeks and am stuck now. I try to do 4-5 hours of exercise a week and am very particular about logging. I generally don't eat half my exercise calories. I noticed two weeks ago that I've been allocated 1300 calories a day as opposed to 1200. Surely I should be eating fewer calories as I lose weight? Help!

How long have you been at a plateau for? Do you use a food scale to weigh all your food?

3 weeks. I was measuring everything until i read an article here and have just started weighing. I have old scales and have just ordered some digital ones for accuracy.

I'd suggest using your food scale for a few weeks before changing anything - you've probably been eating more than you think!

Any thoughts on why I now have 1300 calories a day instead of 1200?

No idea, sorry - did you change your weight or activity level, or rate of loss?

I actually adjust my fitness pal based on my height, I’ve been advised for my height that I only need around 1600cal a day to maintain and 12-1300cal to loose about 1 pound a week. I’m 5ft3, it might be worth looking into what’s the recommended cals for your height. Also look at your macros. If I’m dieting I adjust my protein to be higher and lower my carbs. My daily protein works out to be about 35-40% and my carbs are only usually set at 25% fat makes up the rest (good fats pref)

Don’t know if that helps but it’s what I did last time I was dieting and I lost 2 stone in 14 weeks (approx) with only exercising once a week for an hour dance class

Thanks. I will look into how many calories I'm allowed for my height.

I did change my weight when I hit the one stone mark.
