Anyone ever run with a swollen lymph-node?

On Sunday I noticed some mild discomfort in the crease between the groin and right-inner-thigh. That night I had a fever (had a sore throat a couple days earlier), and Monday I noticed a lump where I was sore. At first I thought I pulled a muscle, or had a hernia maybe. After some reading though I figured it was just a swollen lymph node from fighting an infection.

We missed our 10-mile run on Sunday since I was feeling like crap, and I was too worried about a potential muscle tear or hernia yesterday too chance it. I think tonight though we'll try to make up Sunday's run, but I'm curious to see if anyone has had this happen before and whether or not running aggravated the problem?

I do not know if you can run or not, but please go to the doctor. My son had a swollen lymph node in that same area. The doctor told me he had cat scratch disease. He said it was serious. I just think you need to get it seen about.

Why would you not go get it looked at? It could be serious. I had a swollen lymph node once that wouldn't respond to antibiotics so they had to remove it. They thought it was cancer. Go to the doctor, please.

My mother had a swollen lymphnode on Memorial Day. She thought it would just go away. Three weeks later, that swollen lymphnode had become 43 tumors. Please go to a doctor.

Yikes, I already have an appointment set to see the doc (a general physical that was already planned, so a good time to mention this) but thanks for the concern!

BTW I normally wouldn't see the doc because of a lymph node being swollen for two days - it is totally normal for them to swell when fighting infection and I'm sure I was fighting one Sunday night 'cause I could hardly get warm with pajamas, wool socks and a blanket wrapped around me. But after another 4-5 days with no change I would likely have called to make an appointment.

I will give the 10-miles a shot tonight and post later about the comfort level and whether it seems agitated by the run or not.

Well, my fiance was only up for five miles but it felt great, no issues what so ever! We ran our best time yet. :)
