Does anyone know whether low sodium intake is bad for your health?

I noticed when I track my meals (and I typically eat the same thing everyday) my sodium intake was 860 mg. This is lower then the recommended daily intake, and I was wondering whether this could be bad for my health. I work out and drink about 3 liters of water everyday, so I was wondering if having this low of a sodium intake could actually be bad for me.

I’m curious about this as well. Someone on another forum said that a healthy diet + too much water can lead to a loss of electrolytes and to take iodine drops for a healthy thyroid. I had never heard of such a thing before - always assuming that salt is an enemy.
I’ll definitely be following this thread.0 -
Low sodium intake in combination with higher water/fluid intake can cause imbalances. Best to have a conversation with your doctor, particularly if you are having any symptoms of hyponatremia.4

Talk to your doctor about this. There's too many variables.3

food in the database doesn't always have sodium included. you cant really use MFP to track any of your micros.2

Sodium is something we need. It's what will help your muscle recover from exercise and reduce muscle cramps, it help with blood flow (which translate to a normal blood pressure)..
If you exercise a lot, it's important to have a normal sodium intake (Because sweat = salt), otherwise it's not something you have to track much. Everything you eat, even fruits and veggies, contain sodium. But like someone said, MFP food entry doesn't always have everything correctly entered, including sodium.0 -
I don't know the answer to your actual question, but I wanted to add - how sure are you the database entries you're using are accurate? Most of the entries are user entered, and plenty of people don't pay attention to sodium so they might not have bothered to type it in. So double check that first!0
