I am a bit lost on here at the moment so please bare with me. I am in my early 40’s, just lost 36 lbs and over did it a bit. I love to exercise now but need to gain healthy weight back and maintain. Need help with what is the meaning of “healthy” eating.

I've been here and elsewhere and I gotta say bodybuilding.com is better in my opinion than this site. I've been here for about a year on different profiles and honestly this place seems like more trouble than it's worth. I doubt I'll be here for much longer. More than anything you get into arguments here, not discussions, if you say anything anyone disagrees with.

If you really want to get to the foundation of what it means to eat healthy, you should study about micro nutrients and macro nutrients and hitting your calorie needs for your gender/age/activity level, etc.

Beyond that there are only arguments on who's method is best, but really as long as your hitting your macros/micros/calories the rest is just preference and pretty pointless to try to discuss here.

A healthy diet is balanced and varied, enough of all the nutrients you need short term, and not too many calories long term. That is a somewhat separate issue from weight gain/loss/maintenance, which is the effect of calorie surplus/deficit/balance over time.
