I think you can use either, I would suspect keeping to one or the other will work better than mixing.0

I use frozen fruit so I don’t have to add ice. The more ice you add the more watered down the smoothie becomes later in. But I do use fresh banana and spinach.3

I am truly confused by your question. What is the difference between frozen and fresh fruit?6
-
Why do you ask?
You can use either or even both at the same time (i.e. fresh bananas and frozen strawberries).4 -
I don't use any fruit. You can use what you like.... I don't recommend trying to make a smoothie out of steak and salad though.5

Frozen is cheaper normal an fresh is healthier so it will depend on what you can afford an how much time you want to invest.10

So close. Nutritionally, there's not much difference between frozen and fresh, and depending on season and location, it's possible that the frozen fruit is more nutritious.9 -

Frozen is usually healthier because it is usually picked in season and frozen almost immediately after picking.
I use frozen/refrigerated because that makes my smoothies thicker. Particularly cold bananas make much thicker shakes than room temp ones.3 -
I use frozen strawberries and fresh refrigerated bananas.0

If you use frozen you don't need to add ice, it becomes more nutritious and not as watered down. But it all depends on your goals, especially caloric goals. As many stated, frozen fruit is just as good. Mix and match if you want!3

It was vile. My husband was having a hard time eating one day so thought blending it would be a good idea.... Fail!1 -
I suggest putting some yogurt in a smoothie too. When I forget to I don't enjoy the smoothie as much.2

Liquid(s) + Solid(s) + Blender = Smoothie.
Simples
Obviously some combinations work better than others. For example
- Skim Milk + Vanilla Yoghurt + Banana + Honey + Muesli = Probably Good
- Orange Juice + Toothpaste + Tuna Mornay Pasta Bake + Lawn Clippings = Probably Bad4 -
I do fresh bananas with frozen blueberries and frozen kale. Works well for me.1
