So, recently I've been in a slump. By recently I mean the last 6 months or so. I'm not sure where things went wrong but I've gained about 30 lbs. I went from 230 to 260 and I can't find any motivation to get back on track. Of course I this k about eating right and getting off the couch to exercise but I don't follow through. I crave junk food all the time.... candy, pop, chips, snacks. Anyone have any advice to help me find my motivation?

Just start logging.
Don't worry about what you eat, or when you eat, just log it.
Once you have a good rhythm going, look to where you can cut 100 cals.
Once you are good with that, cut 100 more.
Just carry on like that until you think you can set a small reasonable goal with a calorie deficit that you can work with.
2lbs a week is no use if you can't stick with it and feel deprived.
0.5-1lbs a week is much better if it means you can adhere to your deficit.
Until you are comfortable losing weight don't worry too much about nutrition (carbs, fat, protein and micronutrients). There are lots of health benefits just lowering your weight.
Where you can, when you can, do start looking at fulfilling your nutritional goals, but don't let it deter you from losing weight.
Remember food is not good, bad, healthy, unhealthy, or junk. It has calories to fuel your body, and nutrients for good health, you can find the balance that works for you.
The same with exercise, if you can, or want to do it, great, it will improve your health.
If this is going to put you off losing weight, set exercise aside for the time being. Get a walk in when you can, even the odd 5-10 mins is fine.
Take it slow, treat yourself with forgiveness when you err.
It is what you do most days that makes the difference, not the odd day when you over or under eat.
Cheers, h.

Well, find your motivation for what, exactly? Stop eating and doing what you like and start eating things you feel you should eat and move in ways you think you should? In a hope of losing weight, and maybe, just maybe, not regain this time? Nobody is motivated for that.
You do what you like and you like what you do. Right now you like to eat junk on the couch. It's easy, it's pleasureable, and there's not really any reason to stop doing that. The alternative you envision, is nasty food in small portions, and sweating at the gym where everybody can see how unfit you are. Which path to choose?
But then there is a middle road. Eat what you like, but a little less. Try to not eat between meals, and build meals from real foods. You will crave real food when you're used to it and feel the effect on your satiety, mood and energy - and of course when you don't feel forced. Incorporate movement into you day. No, not the silly add-on movement, use natural situations to move insted of not moving. Walk your dogs, play with the kids (your own, or borrow), dance. Don't use the car/bus unless you have to. This is a way of living you can keep, even after you've lost your weight, because it's not just about losing weight, but finding new habits so you can keep it off too.2 -

I am so with you, I entered a weight loss program at a local hospital, which helped me a lot. If I only ate when I was hungry I wouldn't have a weight problem. When I started the program I was 304 lbs. at the end of the program I was 252. I am now 263. I just can't seem to get back to it.
