Thats what I'm talkin about. I bumped Paid in Full by Eric B and Rakim during my run yesterday, Kicked *kitten*.

If theres one thing that old rap is good for its getting your *kitten* movin during a workout, bangin beats from beginning to end. Love it. I still love the new too, but some of these clowns really should have never gotten a mic.

I mean stuff that shaped and really molded the guys today, guys like masta ace, rakim, tupac, the wu tang clan. Back when it made you think instead of being all about getting play at the local dance clubs.

I love all types of rap but I've recently really got my hands dirty with the golden age, and it's just crazy how much skill these guys have, they were ahead of their time. I DO love the new acts, but I'm just fascinated at the golden age lately. I hate the stuff like Kid Cudi and Wiz khalifa though cause all they rap about is smoking weed and stuff. I say if your whole catalog is just that, hand the mic to one of the underground emcees who actually deserve a voice.

Yeah, to me, basically anyone who isnt on TV all the time, or on radio. Is underground. Aesop Rock, Sage Francis, Atmosphere.

Brother Ali is another guy I've liked for years but just recently have gotten to truly dig into the discography. I like rock too but Rap just has so many intricacies to it.

you have a good taste in music.

I have a pretty eclectic taste in music though from rock and reggae to drum and bass.

i grew up in L.A so I have always been into the L.A underground hip hop scene but back in the napster days i was exposed to so much more good hip hop from Canada and all over the U.S.

Hell yeah, Im actually going to a rap show next thursday here featuring two great canadian rappers "Classified" and "Shad"
Anyone should check them both out, they are both so talented and totally deserve to have people hearing them over these guys who smoke some weed and say "ya know what, let's write a whole album about this"

bleh. Im fussy cause I dont like Weed rap like Kid Cudi and Wiz Khalifa, or Mac Miller, but I dont mind when Dr Dre, or The Game raps about it a bit.

yeah I went to the black star, De la Soul and Rakim gig here (London UK). it was great, even tho we missed Rakim as he was so unfashionably early, which never happens at hip hop gigs.
Also going to Random Axe and rhymesayers later this year... :)

arghhh :( apparently i'm in the wrong country..you guys are having all the fun. and you're right, being early NEVER happens in a hip hop show, i definitely waited 3 hours for both kidz in the hall AND lupe fiasco. i bet that concert was amazing...i'd love to be abroad and get some good hip hop in my soul
