Help me guys! I need some serious motivation. I was doing GREAT, logging, working out, being all around healthy and motivated. Some things happened in my life that has kind of set be back some, and when I got on the scale this morning for a "do-over" I felt like I was going to throw up! I never thought I would see those numbers again... In fact, I swore to myself I wouldn't.
Please, help me!!!!

No worries... it could be stress or water retention...
remember that the scale is just a number, and being healthy is the overall goal
If you are feeling good (before looking at the scale) and you feel like you are looking good, dont stress over a number....
i weighed in this morning and saw the 3 lbs i gained 2 weeks ago is still on... letting me know it isnt water retention (and when i stress i loss weight) so yeah i was disappointed but you know what i feel good
GOOD LUCK TO YOU...0 -
I've been on a long, slow weight loss journey for about 9 years (only recently joined MFP). I can't tell you how many times I've lost 10 pounds, only to realize after a few months I had gained 5, or lost 15 and then gained 10. But year after year, I have kept pushing, kept starting over, and kept forgiving myself. I'm down a net of 40 some pounds from where I started. It may have taken 9 years, but that's FORTY pounds. If you did it once, you can do it again (and again, and again, and again if need be).0

Be thankful you caught the gain when you did rather than letting it get worse than it is. If you've been eating poorly, some of what you're seeing is probably water weight, and will come off quickly when you get back into your healthy habits. Don't kick yourself! We all slip up from time to time. You've learned a lot on your journey so far and that knowledge isn't lost. So look back over your past diaries, remind yourself what it is that works for you and then resolve to nip this in the bud and get the scales moving in the right direction again. What's done is done. You can't undo it, but you can start fresh and new right now.
Blessings on your journey!!!0 -
Hiya,
Forget how much you lost in the past. There is no point in torturing yourself. Today is a new day and a new start. Go forward with the knowledge that you can do it because you have done it before. Remember that you haven't failed until you stop trying. Life is full of blips and bumps. We have to ride them out before we can get on with things sometimes.

I've been there..Just take a deep breath and don't get discouraged....you can get it back off! Good luck!0

But you are still here, on MFP, counting calories and watching your weight... Every body has set backs, everybody has bad weeks - or months... sometimes years!!! The fact is, you still care about your health and weight and you know how to put it right. Sure, it will take some time and effort but you have done it before and you can do it again!
Enjoy the journey - enjoy getting fit and getting thin, getting into your favourite clothes again, getting back up to your level of fitness - then beating it. You're gonna do great!0 -
This may or may not be helpful. But, I usually choose to listen to Anne of Green Gables...
"Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it."
Whatever the scale says, know that you're worth the effort you're putting into being healthy.0 -

I have done the same thing. My journey began over 5 years ago. I am now down over 55 pounds! I have lost and gained the same 10 pounds several time or so it seems. And there are times when my weight is up that I want to just give up but then I remember my reasons for wanting to lose weight. I want to be healthy!! I really do feel so much better! I have so much more energy and I have a whole lot to live for! BUT I feel your pain! Sometimes I think the scale can be our worse enemy. YOU can do it!!!0
