What do you eat for breakfast?? I love Cheerios, but on the days that I go work out, which is generally all of them, that doesn't cut it. I feel like I'm going to fall over. Do I just suck it up and eat the oatmeal or eggs or whatever since I'm burning the majority of those calories that morning anyhow?

I love doing a banana with either Honey Nut Cheerios or Special K with light soy milk. I also like scrambled egg whites and turkey bacon, a wheat bagel with almond butter, or oatmeal with banana and some cinnamon or spicing in it. :)

forget the cereal!!! Go for eggs and cottage cheese, mix the cottage cheese in when eggs are almost done

You can also add in a protein shake too

I have 1 cup (cooked) oatmeal, 1 protein shake with frozen strawberries, and one banana for breakfast. it's about 430 cals and my largest meal of the day. I usually have half the banana before i workout and the rest when i get home from the gym. If you're going to eggs, which is always good, try to use eggbeaters or egg sensations with one whole egg added. that'll keep the cholesterol down. but add a carb to that.

I like to eat Quaker no salt rice cakes and spread a bit of jam on it. Low calorie, lots of fiber, and very filling.

I too generally work out in the mornings. I usually have a bowl of cereal 30 minutes before my workout and sometimes have some wheat toast and a glass of juice. 30 minutes later I'm hitting it at the gym and then afterwards I always have something to eat, whether that be just a few slices of deli meat, fruit, or a granola bar! Listen to what your body wants after you workout, it generally wants something more healthy than just when you are sitting around and wanting to binge!

I have been eating a lot of Multigrain Cheerios for breakfast, but I eat my dry. I eat that with a cup of chocolate milk and 2 eggs. Fills me up and I don't need anything until 10:30am (I eat breakfast at 7:30, and eat every 3 to 4 hours). Sometimes I can even go without my morning snack and wait for lunch.

Most work days I have Fiber Plus cereal with skim at home and then have a fiber one bar when I get to work. Every once in a while I will do a whole wheat waffle with peanut butter.... weekends are a free for all!

I avoid sweetened, refined cereals like cherios
When I look at the nutritional value it seems to be the same as cake so when I want to spoil myself for breakfast I just do it properly and have a custard danish instead :(

On the days that I work out I make a protein shake. I have it 645 am and it will leave me filling full and satisfied until 11 am

1 cup Vanilla coconut milk (I don't like the taste of soy or almond)
1 tbsp all natural peanut butter
1 scoop vanilla whey protein powder
    1/2 tsp vanilla extract
    half tray of ice
    Blend

I'm a big protein bar lover. If you find the right ones, you wind up craving the taste instead of detesting it. Try Think Thin bars, specifically the creamy peanut butter and brownie crunch flavors. They're delish. Otherwise, I'd suggest what everybody else is....eggs, cream of wheat, oatmeal, etc. Good luck!

This morning I had 1/4C of egg beaters (southwestern Style), an English Muffin, and 4.5oz of Cantaloupe...

If you are thinking of doing eggs every morning, I'd switch to something with less cholesterol like egg beaters.

I rarely eat cereal....I almost every monring eat an eggwhite omlett with veggies, slice of cheese, and 1 slice of either bacon or deli ham. YUM@
  • You know I never did eat breakfast, unless it was on the weekends, and then it was a hugh helping of bacon, eggs, grits, toast with lots of butter, hash browns....crispy...coffee, mmmm, NO NO, NOT MMMM....LOL

Bottom line, I now eat a banana....that is it....I enjoy it and still only eat breakfast if I am really hungry, and it's the same ole, banana...LOL

It is worth it not to eat the way I use to. Good luck on whatever your goals are here....

I love a bowl of porridge in the winter. When it's proper nasty outside and I've still got to get to work, Bran Flakes just won't do it.

At work, we have breakfast club for the kids and they always serve porridge with honey. And bacon, eggs beans and fried bread! That will set you up for the day!

When I was a kid my favourite thing was to have Corn Flakes (Kellogg's not the evil Tesco ones my Mum kept buying) with the cream from the top of the milk and a big spoon of sugar. Spot the 70's kid!

Old Fashioned Oatmeal w/frozen blueberries and applesauce added in. Or, an eggwhite and cheddar breakfast sandwich, sometimes with turkey bacon, on a sprouted wheat english muffin.

  • I usually eat a slice of toasted whole wheat bread with a thin coat of jelly for flavor. and a couple scrambled eggs! fills me up until lunch and is not many calories...the eggs are like 140 cals for two (70 a piece) and the bread (natures own whole wheat 14g per slice) is 50 cals a slice!! (=

i also like to eat a can of tuna (5 oz nothing added just tuna plain) and a hard boiled egg for breaki sometimes.... doesn't sound like a typical breakfast meal but thats why i like it =b tuna has very little calories and a whole can (5oz) will be plenty to fill u with a boiled egg!!
  • I read somewhere that eating about 30 grams of protein for breakfast helps all day with reducing hunger, maintaining energy, and preventing dramatic dips in blood glucose levels. I have been trying this for about a month now and can honestly say I have seen all those results. I have 4 eggs scrambled on 2 slices light wheat toast every morning. It's about 420 calories, but I stay under my calorie goal with my workouts. Before this, I tried the cheerios, but I always felt worn out half way through my workouts. This new breakfast plan + a change in my workout routine has helped me bust through a plateau I have been on for several months. I am back on track with weight loss and feeling better than ever!

One of my favorite breakfast is:
1 mini bagel with 2 T weight watcher cream cheese
1 Morning Star Veggie sausage pattie either regular, maple or hot n spicy
1 fresh fruit my favorite is a peach or strawberries with this breakfast
I toast the bagel put a tablespoon on each side and the sausage in the middle.
Some days I go to work at 7am and don't get a break until 1pm this usually stays with me.
Good luck and have a great day:smile:

i have one serving of cereal, b/c i too genuinely LIKE cereal, with unsweetened chocolate almond milk on it. then i have one egg and a 1/4 c. of shred cheese in a tortillia. it's quick, it's filling and i don't have junk calories in there. except for the coffee. b/c me without coffee looks like this:
