My mom is less than 5 feet too and she is usually around 1200 or even less- but she is an elderly person and not very active.

I'm 4"11 and 95 pounds. My net calories are around 1500 but with added exercise go to 2000.

I'm just over 5 foot and about 103 pounds - I maintain around 16-1700 calories. But I am 53 so don't have the metabolism I used to.

1400 without counting intentional exercise. I'm slightly under 5'0" and 110-115 lb.

This forum is PERFECT for me. I'm 4'10", currently 98-100 lbs. I've been eating around 1200 calories a day AND exercising and have lost 25 lbs since March. Now I'm afraid to eat more calories because I'm terrified of gaining any weight back. I'm 55 so my metabolism ain't what it used to be either. I burn anywhere between 200-300 calories, 6 days a week, between cardio and weight training. Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated.

tamiloew--I am 57 and barely over 4'10". I weigh in at 160. I am staying at 1200 calories and exercising. Do you mind if I ask what exercising and how long and how many days a week?

So you've been losing @ 1 lb per month on average? That means you were eating at a 500 calorie deficit, give or take. So theoretically you could eat 500 more cals per day and maintain your current weight.

Having said that, no one logs perfectly or knows their exact exercise burns  So if you are approaching maintenance, I would start by adding 100 cals and eat that for a couple of weeks. Then another 100 for 2 or 3 weeks. See what your weight is doing. If you are still losing consistently, add another 100. Lather rinse repeat until you settle into a maintenance range. It's really trial and error! And don't be afraid of gaining a few lbs - you already know you can just tweak your calories a little and drift back down. Also give yourself a "water weight range" of at least a couple of lbs over your goal weight, because your scale weight will never be one set weight, it will drift around. Congrats on your loss!
  • I am 5'0, maintenance range 105-115. I have an active barn job, run, and do martial arts. My maintenance calories if I just do my job (no riding, running, or martial arts) are around 1750. Usually I eat between 1570 and 2200 any given day.

I am 5'0", just starting maintenance at 125lbs. I'm more average framed than small framed though.

Maintenance for me is around 1900-2000 calories (still trying to nail it down), but I'm also breastfeeding.

I work out lifting moderately heavy weight 3x a week, interval training on days I gym (if I have time) and I'm a primary caregiver to 3 small children, so my days are naturally quite active.

It's good to see we are all in the same ballpark. I'm around 5' and 108lb. My RMR two years ago when I was 101 was 1400. I maintain around 1800-2500, but that's just an educated guess as I don't log anymore.

Hi. 5' . I'd lost 25 lbs, went to maintenance and didn't fare so well (my fault). I gained several lbs.so back to counting in at around 1200 to 1300 daily. I like seeing the ranges here for maintenance.
