I do two meals a day, OMAD is too difficult for me. If you like huge meals, then it is perfect for you.3
-
I don’t like huge meals I decided to change my eating habits I was snacking all day bad snacks of course and eating junk food a lot I still work out but wasn’t really working. I been working out and doing OMAD so far I had one meal under 700 cal. Thank you for sharing

700 calories is fine for one meal but you need to eat more. That is why I eat two meals a day.21
-
If you don't like big meals OMAD isn't a good choice. 700 calories isn't enough.22
-
If you chose to do only eat OMAD as a weight loss strategy, it's important that you are on target with nutrition. A very low calorie diet is detrimental to your health, unless under Doctors supervision. Woman should eat a minimum of 1,200 calories per day. Only eating 700 calories is not wise or safe.18

There are so many downfalls to undereating. It’s not worth it.

So, with OMAD, you are meant to get your entire day's calories in one meal. It works for some people who have trouble eating smaller frequent meals for whatever reason.
You'll need to eat your 1200 calories PLUS exercise calories all at one time. I would find that difficult - for instance if I were to try to get my 100g of protein and my 5-8 portions of fruit and vegetables in one meal I'd never make it.
That is what I need in order to get good nutrition. 700 calories is one meal for me.
So, eat more.6 -
Today I did plan my meal and I’m in the 1200 cal it was good1
-
So why did you write less than an hour ago you gad 1 meal less than 700 calories?7
-
What happened? 1200 calories at least.0
-
Yesterday meal was 700 cal today I added more to it3
-
Yay. Don’t go below 1200.1

Thank you for your advice1

3 days is not a proper evaluation period and you may have lost a "few" pounds but it is highly unlikely it was a "few" pounds of fat.
You need to start by eating your MFP assigned calorie goal or your calculated tdee calories each day or average it during the week. 1200 is the minimum number of calories for a female but you could still be undereating at that amount and it could still cause health issues.
I believe that proper nutrition means eating a variety of food and it definitely means getting enough protein each day. When you condense all of your eating to one meal or a very small window of eating I think you need to try and eat 2 meals of food. For instance you might eat one course of breakfast type food and a second course of lunch/dinner type food. Another example is eating 2 courses but 2 different proteins (fish for one maybe and chicken for the other) with different side dishes and vegetables. Getting enough protein is important. The suggestion to break your single meal into 2 or more courses at least some of the time for increased variety is my opinion.6 -
With those meals, what did your protein look like? That is a key component of fat loss and muscle retention. You should be aiming for 1.5-2.2g/kg of weight (which for most women is around 90-120g). Heck, 1200 calories may or may not even appropriate depending on your activity level. If you are sedentary and tiny, it's probably fine, but if you are active, it won't be enough.4
-
How tall are you? Unless you are very very short and sedentary, you can eat more than 1200 calories.
(And no one should be sedentary by choice. You will regret this when you are older.)

A few months back i did IF (intermittent Fasting - 19:5) That actually worked really well for me and managed to lose 12lbs in 20 days. I of course gained it all back over the summer.
I've now decided to start OMAD (One Meal a Day)
Started OMAD: Wednesday Aug 29th 2018
I feel when I've done IF, first i dropped a lot of my water weight very quickly and then after the second week the numbers dropped slower. Slow doesn't mean bad so don't feel discouraged. This time around with OMAD i'm expecting to see even better results.
With this diet I've coupled OMAD with Colonics. Not sure if this is good or not but i do feel its assisting even more in the weight loss so far in 1 week.
Hoping to see some drastic results myself.

you realize colonics will do nothing for fat loss, right?10 -
@Muscleflex79
Fatloss is a process and i definitely know that. but the average person carries 5 or more pounds of waste in the colon. So doing a colon cleanse will help me to eliminate that waste and drop those extra pounds along the way. Also colonics seems to have a lot of other benefits which will help me to continue to lose weight. Not to mention after my first session i saw a significant reduction in my waist size23 -

But what's the point of artificially expelling waste before your body has completed the digestion process (which is what is happening in your intestine).
Sure, you might technically weigh less afterwards . . . but this isn't the weight people are concerned with when it comes to appearance or health issues. It would be leaving your body in a day or two anyway.
It's like being excited about weighing less after a haircut.17 -
Guess what happens when you eat after you clear out your colon? More waste will go into it.11
-
@janejellyroll With Colonics its not about expelling waste before it digests. Its about removing waste that's been stuck to the colon walls for years. LOL about the haircut.22
-
Who told you that waste sticks to your colon walls for years?! That's not how your body works.15

No. Just no. If you've got waste stuck to your colon walls for years, there would be major health problems.9 -

That is complete woo. If you have years of waste in your bowels, you need GI not a colonic. What you are doing is dangerous.9 -

I'm guessing the people that want to sell her colonics!!11 -

You can do what you want with yourself and your money. I have never looked into colon cleanses because I believe in letting nature run its course unless it needs intervention. I also think if they were really good for you they would not have stayed a fringe practice for as long as I have been aware of their existence which is at least 25 years.
I think it is very unwise to be so hung up on a number on the scale that you feel the need to have a colon cleanse to get it artificially lower. Are you going to do it before each time you weigh? If not, that weight will come back just like it does with water weight.
If you are patient in time you can establish a proper baseline of weight loss and you won't need gimmicks to see progress.4 -

There WAS an ad on the local radio for some sort of cleanse claiming just that a number of years back. I've learned enough over time to recognize woo when I hear it, but when a person hears something like that over the public airwaves (repeated several times the hour), knowing that "false advertising" isn't allowed—and even if you aren't 100% clear on what sorts of claims fall under the definition, you THINK you do—it can be easy to think there might be SOMETHING to it.4 -

How do they tell the difference? Do you eat corn and then wait 2 years before eating more and see if some comes out during a cleanse?

Agreed with both! Waste does not adhere to the bowels for years- you’d be seriously ill if that was the case.
Many “colon cleanse” products actually contain clay which gives the false impression of “years of waste” in the bowels after it passes through the digestive system.8
