Hit me up if you can relate. No judgement here.

Yep, be it protein powder, yoghurt, biscuits- I can't keep it in the cupboard. I waddle back and forth to the kitchen cupboard until I've finished the entire pack. 😖 i end up feeling so stuffed and bloated, I can't even attempt to walk it off after. Please send me any useful ways to help change the behaviour....xx

Yup, comfort eating is why I'm here with over 100lb to lose, it's all self inflicted!
Since making a determined effort to change I've been better but there are still days from time to time when I go mad and eat anything I can get my hands on.

I struggle with wanting to eat when I get home from work. I work until 9:30pm or 11pm. I guess I am trying to "reward" myself for making it through the day. So when I get home I am tempted to eat something sweet or salty/crunchy. Sometimes both! I will check back and see if anyone has some ideas for us.

It seems to me you've identified the problem. The obvious solution would be to break that pattern, by eating better thorughout the day, so you never feel a need to "reward" yourself for "being good". Eat food you like for all meals. Eat when you're hungry, but don't eat too much overall.

You will still have to tell yourself "no" sometimes, but you can handle it when you don't feel out of control, and you don't feel out of control when you don't feel entitled, and you don't feel entitled when you don't feel resentment.

Kommodevaran, Thanks for the comment. I am not rewarding myself for not eating, I am rewarding myself for all I have accomplished during the day. The truth is I am a bit hungry when I come home from work since I often eat a meal at about 6PM. I will sometimes put an apple on the table so that I have something good to eat when I come home But I do not stop with the apple but eat additional snacks. You did "hit it on the head"! I just have to tell my self, "NO!" or better yet, "Tomorrow".

    Thank you.

Totally. I've never had a problem with particularly 'bad' foods - no daily soda or fast food habit to break here - just large portions and often, at times at least twice a week, these late night binges where I feel like I just eat through everything in the fridge, even if its making a giant stir fry with every left-over vegetable at 2 in the morning and eating all of it.

Definitely. I’ve had a problem with it for the past 20 years. It’s been even worse lately since I lost my husband who was only 47 years old. I eat when I’m sad, I eat when I’m happy, I eat when I’m tired, I eat when I’m bored, I eat when I’m angry, I eat when I’m frustrated.... Feel free to add me so we can support each other.

I thought I had everything under control, I had stopped binging and changed my lifestyle. Lost 120lbs was maintaining really well until I lost my son. When I'm sad I eat , when I'm lonely I eat , when I'm mad at the world I eat. I know exactly how grief can make you eat all of your emotions. Anyway, I've been slowly but surely gaining weight back :(
