Hello to all!
I am new to the group. I am on a quest for weight loss, not to be a super model, but just to fit back into my clothes! I had a baby five months ago, and I am still wearing my maternity clothes!
Before the pregnancy, I weighed in between 135-140 pounds with no dieting, minimal exercise.
I shot up to 197 pounds at the end of my pregnancy, and am now 179. (Whew, that took a lot of courage to type :ohwell: )
I have been lazy the last few months in regards to dieting, I got in the habit of eating for two, and still was. I went to dinner with my husband last week, and got a picture taken, when the picture was e-mailed to me, I was in SHOCK! Was I that big, my face was not recognizable. In the mirror it seemed fine, but on paper---what a difference.
So I am motivated to fit back into the closet full of clothes that I already own. I am a member of a gym, and plan on going three days a week to do a mixture of elliptical machine/weight training.
As far a diet, I plan to reduce caloric intake, because the whole low carb thing makes me want to slit my wrists (granted I have friends who are on it with success, I tried and on day one I was crazy with cravings).
I would like to hear everyone's advice, tips and encouragement. Thanks!

Hello and welcome to MFP. You will love this site if you don't already. I love it here. This site is so motivational, helpful, supportive, and everyone is so nice and friendly. I just wanted to tell you good luck on your weight loss journey. You can do this. My advice, make sure you drink your water, watch how much sodium you eat b/c it will cause you to retain water. I know from experience.0

Good luck to you! Try to remember that it took 9 months to put that baby weight on, it certainly isn't going to come off over night! Stick to it & you'll do wonderfully! :flowerforyou:0
