Male factor infertility

Options
Hello. Just looking for anyone who has had experience with male factor infertility.

A little about us, my husband and I have been trying to conceive for 2 years. We just recently started working with the infertility clinic in the past months. My husband has one child from a previous relationship, she is 8. We were surprised to learn that my husbands sperm count is extremely low. He just had a few more labs and it appears it’s because his testosterone is low. My testing has come back normal and my cycles are normal. We are pretty devastated because from what we can tell it looks like there is not much they can do for male infertility. The one thing is both him and are are quite overweight. We are making great progress but I wanted to reach out to see if anyone has successfully conceived after Weight loss who has dealt with male factor infertility?

I don't know about infertility specifically, but my husband is 50 and I can promise you his "drive" is not great if he doesn't stick to his weight lifting routine. I don't think there is any better way for a man of any age to boost testosterone than to do full body strength training 3x/week. Other than that just make sure he is getting sufficient healthy fat in his diet because fat is an essential nutrient for hormone manufacture.

Don´t lose hope. Get help from the tecnology. One living healthy sperm is enough... Let the fertility-specialists do their thing... ;-) I wish you all the best.

Like others have posted above - technology can certainly help in this case. Outside of going that route, having your partner lose some weight to get into a healthy range may help. Being significantly overweight has the effect of increasing estrogen and lowering testosterone in men... significantly, in many cases.

My husband and I have been struggling for 5 years with male factory infertility. We have had 3 IUI's fail. Looking to take the next step toward IVF- but before we do- I want to be as healthy as I possibly can be. I have lost 30 pounds so far, but need to lose another 20 pounds and then we will look into IVF more.
Please feel free to add me. Infertility is a horrible thing to go through- I would not wish it on my worse enemy.

Don't lose hope. My son-in-law has male factor infertility. My daughter also had endometriosis. Once they sorted out the endometriosis, my daughter was pregnant on the second IVF cycle using a process called PICSI. My grandson is six weeks old. Check this out: https://www.healthcentre.org.uk/fertility-treatment/picsi.html. This is a UK site. I'm in Australia
