Hi everyone I'm looking for success stories and advice to motivate me to stop drinking so much. I'm trying to lose about 15 pounds so not exactly a lot. I'm a heavy drinker you could a pretty much a bottle of wine a night. I'm a healthy eater so I'm good to go with that. Any stories and motivation please would be great.

I wish I could help but if you are drinking a bottle of wine a night, you need more motivation than I could ever give. All I can do is wish you the best.0

This was me. I was drinking way too much and it was affecting my relationship and my life. I was trying to lose weight and no matter what I did, i was like a hamster on a wheel. Something had to give. I had my bloodwork done and my triglycerides were through the roof. Drinking can cause that. So, I decided that being healthy and happy was more important than drinking. I quit cold turkey for a good 6 months. I lost weight almost right away, not a ton but my mid section thinned out. As a result, I started making better food choices and I started seeing the weight come off. I eventually started adding some alcohol in here and there. No wine though since that was my downfall drink. Now I drink only on weekends and even then not too much. I just don't have much of a taste for it. I eat really well, exercise and finally I can see my ab muscles. So, for me, the alcohol was a big factor. Also, after I had my bloodwork done again, my triglycerides took a dive and I am now in the very healthy range. Alcohol can wreak havoc on your body. Some people can fit it in to their calories just fine. People like me, cannot. It's a decision you alone can make. Good luck.5

sorry for the double post0 -
A bottle of wine is roughly 600 calories, depending on the varietal. So assuming you are maintaining your weight now (not on a gaining or losing trend), if you eliminate the wine and keep everything else the same, you could expect to lose 5 pounds per month and reach your goal in just under 3 months.4
