Calories for the Same Food are So Diffent

How is it many of the foods in the database have such a wide range of calories?

It doesn't seem to matter the category; eggs (prepared the same way), butter, beef, etc.

One entry of the same size (and sometimes brand) can have, for example, 100 calories while another entry shows the exact same food having 300 calories. It makes me doubt the accuracy of the entries and causes me problems as to which one to choose.

    I always crat my own entry with the info from the pack and dont tick the box for other users to use it so only I can use it and know that nobody had changed the entry either as only I can see it

    I always double check, between the package or USDA website.

    I've just joined and noticed the same way out figures - will start creating my own - just thought though this would be the easy way ..... I guess nothing's that easy!!! ;)
