Armchair Doctors?

So I got my fecal fat results back, and I’m freightened. Still waiting on the elastase results. I’ve lost 5 lbs since last Saturday’s weigh-in. I’m pretty much living on soda pop, as food scares me because it gives me cramps and diarrhea and sometimes makes me sick. Anyone know what this could be? I’m not in any pain. My only symptoms are loss of appetite, early satiety, nausea off and on, bloating, passing oily stools, loose stools. I am sure all of this is way tmi, but fear has a way of taking away your sense of shame/embarrassment. Anyone have any ideas? My doctor is just going to tell me to wait for my colonoscopy on the 12th, but I have medical anxiety...he knows not what he asks.qyhax2rifjkc.png

    I should mention that all the results for parasite infection came back negative. Also lactoferrin was negative, and several others. I’m just waiting on the elastase results. If those are low then it’s almost assuredly my pancreas. The doctor is going to do a HIDA scan on my gallbladder, but all of the other gallbladder tests came back normal, and like I said...I’m not in pain.

    Halfway down the page, it lists what diseases could cause high fecal fat. Hope that helps narrow it down for you.

    I'm not a medical professional, but I would be gall bladder.

    Talk to your doctor, not MFP, for diagnosis. Anyone trying to diagnose you over the internet would be irresponsible.

    Word.

    I find this behavior (asking strangers on the internet for medical opinions) incredibly baffling.

    A girl at my job was talking about something similar. She used magical stones from Goop. Apparently they are magic and charge themselves in the moon light or something. I'm not big on the idea of shoving stones up there so I would honestly just talk to your doctor about this and not take medical advice from the internet!

    Why are you looking for answers that only should be answered by your doctor? Trust your doctor, that is why they get the big bucks.

    I'm going to be blunt. Here goes:

    Wait for the colonoscopy.

    You're going to worry anyway, no matter what anyone here says or suggests, so you may as well worry until you're in expert hands, than add extra worry from asking for armchair diagnoses that may be totally off the mark. If your appointment is only four days away, you can wait and get an expert opinion then, instead of potentially ramping up your anxiety even more by asking random strangers on a weight loss app to comment on your medical status.

    Try this- the future, by its nature, is unknown. What is going on in your head, the fear that you may have colon CA, is just that- something in your head. It’s an idea, a prediction about the future with no basis.

    Since all you really have is a fantasy of your Dr telling you bad news, push back. Think that the Dr will eventually get back to you and say everything is ok. If you have to, stand in front of the mirror and practice. Or sit and really concentrate on being at the Dr’s office and try to picture him telling you the test came back fine.

    If you are going to be in the business of predicting the future, you may as well get a good outcome.

    @88olds - such sage words.

    Any time I try to predict the future it ends in anxiety. Any time I regret the past, it ends in anxiety. It's always best to stay in this moment.

    You need to speak to your doctor about all of your concerns
