You're eating too many calories or there is some other reason such as holding water due to time of month, salt, etc.

i gained 2 lbs my first week and then dropped ten over the next two I have lost a further 3 pounds after that over the course of a month. Keep going be consistent stick to your calories and you will get there! Just note that it isn't a quick fix but I have found this diet easier to stick with I feel full and am craving less. but as always its calories in calories out.

It's not really common with keto, but it can happen. What are your calories like?

I just put everything I ate into the app and my calorie intake for yesterday was 1818.

What are your calorie goals to lose weight? If they are 1818 or higher, then eat that. If they are lower than 1818, you need to stay there.

Calories are King for weight loss. Even though Keto is generally a way to lose a quick few pounds of water weight due to lack of carbs, it isn't magic. You still have to stay below your maintenance weight calorie in order to lose weight.

I think I am WAY above my calories then! When I put in my starting weight and goal weight it says I should be eating about 1200 calories! I am new to this so am learning. I will diligently track all foods in the app this week and stay at or below 1200 calories. Thank you!

So, that's a one day sample of guesstimated entries with possibly forgotten foods or snacks. If all days were like yesterday or higher, you may be overeating. If you like keto keep doing it, but know that you may need to count your calories as well. Since fat is high in calories, you may also need to weigh your food using a food scale.

    1200 - that's a whole other discussion, right there.

How much weight are you trying to lose? If it's 25 pounds or more, set your GOALS to "Lose 1 pound per week." If it's less than 25 pounds, set it to "Lose 1/2 pound per week."

Eating too little is not good - you'll crash and burn at 1200 if it's not enough to support your daily work/school/home life, etc.

Okay, set it to "Lose 1 pound per week." NOT 2 pounds. :)

Be honest with the "Activity Level" - if you have any kind of job, go to school or care for children at home, you're probably not "Sedentary," so be realistic. 1200 is really low for nearly everyone other than tiny older ladies.

Then learn to log your food. It is a process, and it takes time and a food scale is your friend...especially with Keto, where it's really easy to eat too much. Just an extra slice of cheese or an extra pat of butter can push you 100 calories over. Three ounces of beef instead of two is a big calorie difference. Little things add up very quickly.

I would also suggest if you want to be super accurate that you try to weigh in grams rather than ounces if you can. I realise that's more a european way but it will help you truly know what you're eating. Good luck.

It's common for weight to fluctuate 5lbs in either direction, all the time. It's water retention, and water retention can be caused from everything from a change in diet to stress. My personal record is a 14lb gain in one day, lost it all 2 days later.
