Hi - I'm Robbie

Hello everybody,

I'm glad to join this group and hope to contribute while starting my "IF" Journey.
I'm 49 and been living in Thailand.

Two years ago, I lived an active lifestyle where I just trained for about an hour and a half daily.
My shape was in good order, Then I hurt my back badly and couldn't maintain any sort of exercise normally ever since.

As you possible can guess I also gained weight. from 145lb to 180lb, My BP spiked up and now I'm on the pills. :s
and other goodies too.

Cut the story short. my experience proved me through the years that nutrition is the key.
and the best of it is to eat less correctly.


I made my research and now I'm ready to go ahead, yesterday I run a trial on 16hr without any food.. (just water and activity of some sort) I felt good and had lots of energy, no side effects or detox signs.


Questions:

1. When you go on one meal a day, what are your priorities in terms of schedule? fluids? monitor your calories?
2. Which of the strategies do you follow strictly? and which you let flow as it goes without being strict?
3. Do you get yourself checked by your MD from time to time?
4. Did you have a "negative" results and how did you overcome them?

    But 16:8 is just a normal meal schedule? You can eat as many meals you want inside those 8 hours. You still have to eat the appropriate amount of calories for your need. You also don't ahve to eat within an 8 hour window, for any other reasons than to do so. If it happens to suit you, please do. If you're ill, get medical check-up, regardless of meal schedule.

    I do this fasting schedule as well. I eat from 10am-6pm, and fast for the other 16hrs. It works really well for me but I definitely still eat my normal calories in between. I eat about 2 meals, it’s not so much about starving yourself as much as just realizing that you actually do not need to be eating all the time or more than needed. I don’t get monitored by a doctor at all, and it has proven super beneficial to me. And I drink a ton of water especially if I start to feel hungry at all, and coffee as well since I work till midnight and stop eating pretty early.
