To count them or not to count them....

So...I've heard from a few people that the weight watchers sight does not recommend that its clients add fruits {if eaten in moderation} and veggies {corn is the only exception} to their daily food logs. The whole point is that they want you to be healthy and they would rather you eat your fruits and veggies along with your diet instead of as part of it. I get it, and have been encouraged follow this rule as I am so active and allowed a small amount of daily calories. I've found that when reaching for a snack on this 'plan' I'm more likely to grab a cucumber or some baby carrots as opposed to a 100 calorie pack of something not as good for me, I'm still losing weight and I'm WAY less hungry this way, then I was when I recorded EVERYTHING I ate. Any feelings-thoughts-advice on this topic???

Fruits and veggies are good, they'll keep you full. I usually still log them but am not as concerned with the "portion" size as much. Also, if you're watching a certain area (i.e. carbs) you may want to log them.0

I'd say you don't need weight watchers, you obviously know whats healthy, if you eat healthy in moderation, you don't need weight watchers. Just my opinion. I think fruits and veggies are some of the best things for us!0

While I wouldn't worry all that much about the calories I always log them because they affect other things this website helps you track like macronutrients, fiber, etc.0

Me again!! Maybe I should clarify...I'm NOT on weight watchers and never have been. I have a few friends that have been however and they actually switched to MFP because it was easier and more fun. Duh...with all of US on it, how could it not be??!! I was always complaining to them that I was starving so they told me about how the WW site didnt have them record fruits and veggies and told me I should try that rule on MFP. Sorry for the confussion.0

I haven't used weight watchers, but my understanding is that when they switched to the new system of counting points but not counting fruits and vegetables, they increased the points on everything else to compensate. I occasionally eat Smart Ones entrees for lunch and they all say something like "Weight Watchers Points: 5, Points Plus: 7." If you're using MFP, you should track everything because that's the way it's designed to work.0

Same here. 3oz of baby carrots is only 35 calories. It doesn't matter that much to me if I only ate 1.89oz or if I ate 3.76oz. The calories are negligible (for me). But I still track 'em in guesstimated portions. If I let myself slack on logging one thing, I worry that I may let myself slip on logging other things, which is something that isn't negotiable for me right now.0 -

I log fruits and veggies but I don't log in I have a single drink of milk or soda or a bite of something. I figure I'm not logging that it took me 42 seconds to climb the stairs at work 4 times a day or the walking to and from the lunch room so I'm even.0

The only thing I don't log is water. Because I drink a lot, and I'm not opening my log to update it all day long. Water is all that I drink. Period. But other than that, if it goes in my mouth, it gets logged!0 -
Too much fruit isn't good. Don't fool yourself into thinking you can have six pieces of fruit a day.0

I am on Weight Watchers and use this site as well. Although they tell you not to track your fruit and veggies they do say to be careful of the amount of fruit you eat because of the levels of sugar. I find that MFP and WW allow you to eat roughly the same amount of food. I do not track my fruits and veggies for weight watchers, and use all my daily points. I do ttrack them however for MFP and also use all of my calories. (makes sense?)
This is just something that works for me0 -

I keep a rough count during the day and add it at the end...of water that is0 -
If I wanted to skip logging something, I'd be fine with not logging the veggies I eat, but I would absolutely log my fruit. There's a lot of calories in fruit.0
