Is it better than eating when ever I want ,staying within my calories?

Nope. Long term results from IF and 5-6 meals a day are about the same. IF might help YOU stay in a deficit to achieve the weight loss, but it does not by itself cause a greater loss of fat.5

Doesn't make a difference. Calories are still king, and IF is just one way for some people to find it easier to stay in a deficit.4

There's no either/or. Eat in any way you want that makes it as easy as possible to not eat too much.1

Calories are what matter, not what time you eat them. There's no difference between 1500 calories spread throughout the day vs. 1500 calories in a time-constrained window.
With that said, some (not all) people find that intermittent fasting helps control their calorie intake and stick to their diet better. If it works for you, it's a good thing; if not, no big deal.5
