I did my account set up, and after I entered all my goals... I choose to have a 1lb/wk weight loss goal. It says I should eat 1550 calories per day... but then it guesses that i will loose less than 1lb per week... also my BMR was 1625.... I set my daily goal for now @ 1500 calories... how do I know if this is right... how do I know when to change it?

If you really aren't sure what you're doing then you should just use the guided goals and keep resetting the goals using guided when you lose or gain weight, so that the goals are still relevant to your current size.
  • My wife is on here too and she has found out don't go below 1200 calories a day net. She knows more than I do about it but hopefully that may help. As far as when to change it the slower you lose the easier it is to keep the weight off. Hopefully that helps you.

With mine I selected 2lbs/week, when I look it was me set @ 1.9 lbs per week BUT i know with exercise added i will lose minimum of 2lbs/week. just use the settings it gives you and once you get more in the flow with everything you can change it.

Hi there. Rather than change your caloric level, wouldn't it be better to "up" your anticipated weight loss? Just thinkin'.

Just go with the guided (not custom) tools for now (as someone suggested) ... get used to it first ... many of us could start writing pages on how it all works, but use it for a while and in a couple weeks you'll figure it out :)
  • I try not ot eat as much as they say. I am on the same plan. This is a great tool to keep track of how much we eat, but it is only a tool. I think losing weight should be done slowly, rather than telling the tool to hurry it up. This is great to use but you have to have common sense too. Slow and steady wins the race. Good luck and stick with it.

I must say, that at a glance, I thought your name was Master O' Farts. rofl
  • Thanks everyone. I went back and did the guided instead of custom. I am sure that I will get the hang of it.
