Extra calories, how did that happen?

Hi guys, I've been using MFP for about the last 3 years and have lost around 3.5 stone which I'm managing to maintain.
I have always used my iphone to track my daily steps, around 8000 - 15000 steps depending on my activity for that particular day. That would earn me an extra 150 - 300 calories on top of my MFP goal.
I have recently changed my phone to a Samsung Galaxy S9+ and even though my steps are as accurate as the iphone MFP now gives me between 400 & 600 calories extra. Has anyone else had this issue? My MFP goal settings have not changed, everything is as before, many thanks.

MFP does not add the extra calories on based on your steps but on the estimated calorie burn provided by the device that you have linked to MFP. If the steps are exactly the same, the new device is probably estimating a higher calorie burn for the same steps.

I get between 400 to 600+ extra calories from steps when I use the fitbit, when I use the Pacer app I only get an extra 300 for the same amount of steps

It is all estimates based on a formula. If you were meeting your goals with the previous results, I'd stick to that.

Thanks guys, I've decreased my daily calorie target by 200 on MFP so that the extra calories im now being awarded via Samsung Health app keeps my eating goal roughly the same.
