My Food Diary

I've been trying my best to eat as healthy as possible for the past month (been posting here for a couple of days now) and wanted to ask how I can improve on my meals. I know I eat cheese (that's my only "unhealthy" vice) but wanted to see how I can get to my net calories without stuffing my food with empty calories.

And before you ask, the one day I had too much sodium, I asked the chef to put the sauce on the side but he put it on the chicken anyway. I end up drinking a little more water on that day to try to flush that out.

    BUMP (in case anyone is logging on now)
  • You might consider cutting back on your carbs. I find for me I have to cut back on bread, rice, and other grains. I eat a lot of vegetables, fruits, chicken, and eat (greek) yogurt daily.

    I have to say, your diary doesn't look too bad!

    For me, I wouldn't have tortilla twice the one day. But you have plenty of fresh veg in there, which is fab, and your calorie intake seems spot on. Was there something in particular you wanted help with?

    Very Nice diary! I saw the high sodium day and not to worry, the water will help with it!

    Lots of good protein and staying around 1200 calories even on you bigger exercise days.

    Congrats and Keep it up!!!

    Nothing wrong eating cheese at all. Your diary looks great and looks very balanced:
    * good carb (NO need to cut back any carb)
    * fresh fruits
    * vegi
    * nuts

    And you are eating your exercises calories back, excellent!!!

    You seems doing all the right things.

    That day was mostly to get closer to my calorie goal.

    But what do need help is to try to get my net calories close to 1200. There are days I come close (the last 3 days come to mind) but on extremely high exercise days like what I'm going to experience tomorrow, I can only eat about 60-70% of my calories back. It's very difficult and need help on that.

    Also what's a good day to weigh myself. I noticed I weigh a lot less on Thursday morning than on Monday morning. Both are after rest days (Sunday and Wednesday). I'm gonna try not to weigh myself twice a week and wanna keep it to one day. At least I'm losing inches.

    And do I "treat & cheat" once in a while while keeping within my calories (ex. eating half of a strudel and a small bowl of Froot Loops today) but never try to overdo it. I'm more than impressed that I avoided almost all fast food places since I started. I've yet to go dramatically over my calorie goal (I did it once but by only 90 calories).
