Intermittent fasting is the best decision I made.

I hit a little plateau for 4/5 days but I kept going, switched up my fasting hours a little bit and broke through this morning
7 pounds to my goal!

I have been doing 23:1 for 5 weeks and have lost 29lb so far. My energy is high and im doing a lot more exercise as a result which as helped. Im never hungry anymore which is great as i still have 100lbs to lose. I eat my allocated calories in one meal though i dont eat my exercise calories. This is a lifestyle change to me and i know i will get where i want to be1

Sorry OP but that has nothing to do with IF. You probably just dropped a bunch of water weight (although IF does make it easier to stick to your calories).
You need to take a look at the science. I’m now down to 133.2, and it’s been 3 weeks. I had been sitting at a plateau. If you think that I lost 5.2 lbs of water weight, AND all the inches I lost because of water weight, you’re daft. Do some research. I drink over 100oz of water a day.
I was a critic at first, but I did my research and all the results from the IF groups I’m in, and my personal results speak for themselves.
Also, I’ve had much more energy, I’m way less sluggish than I had been. My moods are much better. There’s plenty of benefits of IF aside from weight loss.
No, exactly, it's science. You lost water weight. I was the same way, I lost only every 3 weeks... I was still burning fat during those 3 weeks, but the fat cells were filling with water, until I pretty much peed them all out, and lost 5 lbs in a week.
It has nothing to do with intermittent fasting, it's still all about calories.
I'm not saying that IF doesn't work for other reasons for some people (it's much easier for me too if I can skip breakfast), but when it comes to weight loss, it's all about calories, not meal timing.
Of course it’s about the calories. You still need to be in a deficit. HOWEVER, timing has a lot to do with it. If you eat every however often your body is always digesting and doesn’t get a break. If you go more than 12hrs without eating (for most people) your body needs to burn something and so they use the fat that you already have. Also, your insulin is lower so your body is in optimal fat burning mode. It’s around the same idea as keto, although I don’t agree with keto but it works for some people. 🤷♀️
And like I’ve said there’s many more benefits aside from weight loss. I’m eating the exact same way I did for months, and didn’t see a change until I started IF.
I have two kids and don’t have time to link you to many things, but just open your mind and take a look. I’m not saying you can eat whatever you want lol.

"There’s a ton of incredibly promising intermittent fasting (IF) research done on fat rats. They lose weight, their blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugars improve… but they’re rats. Studies in humans, almost across the board, have shown that IF is safe and incredibly effective, but really no more effective than any other diet. In addition, many people find it difficult to fast."

IF is just CICO where the person does a better job at not eating and thus controls their calories a little better.
