....it was not a hard workout. I did Leslie Sansone's 3 mile walk and my HRM had my HR upto it's highest it's been, 157. It's usually around that when I am on the treadmill/elliptical/bike/doing a JM shred dvd. The only thing is, when I do all those other workouts...I am beat! This workout was relatively easy to get thru...I did sweat alot but while doing it, I wasn't "dying"...kwim? How does a workout that makes me feel like that rate in comparison to the other ones where I'm begging for it to be over? Is the calories burned still equivalent to each other?

Thanks!

Well you have the HRM...what is the difference in calories that it tells you?

If you had your HRM, does it calculate calories? If not, enter your stats in an online calculator, I like this one: http://www.braydenwm.com/calburn.htm Do the same for the JM shred type workouts and compare.

All calories are a unit of energy (the amount of energy needed to increase the temperature of 1 gram of water by 1 °C.), so they are all equivelant. 100 cals burned running 5 minute miles is the same as 100 calories burned house cleaning. It just takes much longer to burn the ones cleaning house!

I know some of my P90X workouts I despise, and some I love, but they all burn calories. Maybe it's all just perspective?

Ok thanks, I guess that was basically my question...whether I should keep doing this particular workout or not. I did look back at some previous workouts and the ones where I did JM for roughly the same amount of time burned almost a 100 more calories!
