When you log food My Fitness Pal counts the calories and macro breakdown for the foods you eat. No meat is 100% fat.

For example - pepperoni is a high fat meat. Log it and you get (Hormel example) - 140 calories for 14 slices - 13 grams of fat and 5 grams of protein.

For a keto diet - change your macro breakdown to suit your needs.

Foods are made up of a variety of macronutrients, including fat. When you log a food, any fat, protein, or carbohydrate that is in the food is "counted" as part of your daily totals. Meat is typically a mixture of fat and protein, so when you log meat, that is what will be "counted."

It counts it as whatever protein, fats, and carbs are in the actual item.

Most meats, especially lean meats, are mostly protein.

Um, depends on the meat? Meat is mostly protein, some cuts are more fatty than others, and if it's processed (sausages, burgers, meatballs) it will have a small amount of carbs.

Look at the nutrition label on whatever you are eating. I wouldn't trust MFP entries until you have checked that they are correct.

Meat is protein and fat with trace carbs.
