Weight loss is as much about mindset as it is about physically shifting the weight. If you work on your self esteem as well as your weight, it might help you take things a bit easier. If you think being fat is a measure of your self worth, it's not. Fat is just a substance in the body. Some of us have more, some of us have less, but we're made to feel bad and even immoral because having more means we don't fit some arbitrary ideal of 'the perfect body'.

If your self esteem is high your size may make less of a difference, and you'll be able to be patient enough to lose weight healthily. If you're concerned that you might have loose skin after drastic weight loss, choose less drastic weight loss. If you approach this from a point of desperation, you may be very frustrated with yourself if things don't go according to your plan. Weight loss isn't linear, so don't set yourself up for disappointment by expecting it to be.

I don't think there is any technique for the loose skin after weight loss. It does tighten back up, though.

I lost 80ish pounds and had a bit of loose skin. I'd still say it's worth everything to do it. My skin is fine. I also got rid of a whole list of other physical and emotional problems by losing the weight. So worth it. I'll never go back to the misery of being obese.

The faster you lose, the more likely you’ll have loose skin. You are young so it will be less problem than someone older. Worst case is that You will look and feel better at a healthy weight than at 80 lbs overweight, even with a little loose skin.

I think there's something else we need to address here. If you're wanting to lose 80lbs and you're 180... how tall are you? Because there are few heights in which 100lbs is a healthy weight.

I think it's really important to look at weight loss as a lifestyle change and not a race. But, based on your goals I think there's more going on (like self-loathing, lack of self-esteem, etc.)

This community is super supportive. We can help you reach healthy goals in realistic time frames! I urge you to reconsider your goals and let us help you :) Always here for support if you need it. Feel free to add me :)

Why do you need to weigh 100 lbs? Are you very short? If you're not this doesn't sound very healthy, lots of people have that much to lose I did in fact and still working on half of it. But I was obese and tall and that loss will put me in a healthy range and I'm not losing 80 lbs in 8 months near impossible unless morbidly obese 10 lbs a month to lose would be extreme for most. Take your time and re evaluate if this is the right route for your body type.

And to.answer your question regarding lose skin, it's genetics, age and or how long you were over weight that will determine lose skin and how well your skin will snap back or not. I have it not a lot but it takes longer if ever to improve versus the weight loss.

    Best of care to you.

I think incorporating weight training and anaerobic exercise will help to decrease the amount of loose skin. Also drink lots of water. My mother loss weight in her 40s and she had loose skin but weightlifting took care of that problem. Muscle is heavy so it may impact your weight goal But you lose inches.
