Is this possible? I rush in the mornings and normally eat pb on toast but I was looking for other options. TIA

I do all the time. You can scramble them and microwave and put them in a dish or get a plastic egg poacher and microwave them in that.

yes, i do it all the time. scrambled. I'm not sure, but you might have to pierce the yolk, if you like your eggs that way. They other thing that you can do, is pre-cook the eggs, and then reheat them..

Get a plastic egg poacher. They're at Wal-Mart, Target, etc.

Sure it's possible. There's even some sort of microwave egg gizmo that you can get for it, although I suspect a small bowl would work just as well.

There was a bagel shop that I used to go to in Jersey City that made eggs this way. They had really bad coffee.

I cook my egg whites in the microwave everyday. I actually prefer them that way. So much fluffier!
  • i used do this all the time!
I would cut up spinach and mix it into the eggs then microwave them!

Now I soft boil the eggs and spread spinach on a piece of bread and layer the egg on top. Tastes better imo

Agreed!!! Her egg mug recipes are on point!!!
I didn't even know it was possible to microwave eggs until I saw those recipes... and even then i was skeptical about how they would turn out, but in fact, they turn out fluffy and delicious!

if you use a poacher or just put your eggs in a bowl remember to add a bit of water or the yolks will explode....just some info!! Good luck, you can take scrambled eggs, any veggie you want, turkey sausage crumbles or turkey bacon and a little cheese, cook them in muffin pan...you can freeze or refrigerate just reheat in the am! They are still good!!! Awesome trick!

From personal experience.... ALWAYS pierce the yolk! My mom is still scraping eggs off of the ceiling from when I was a kid. When I was 9 or so I tried to fry an egg in the microwave. Let me tell you, hot yolk exploding in you face is not a fun way to start your day.

I didn't know it was possible to scramble eggs in any other way besides the microwave until I was an adult!

I typically scramble up the egg by beating it well and microwaving for 1min, stirring, and microwaving again for another 30sec or so until it's done.

I loooove Hungry Girl's breakfast ideas and her egg ones are a winner. Once you nuke eggs in microwave you will wonder why you have not known about this before! Just be careful bc can be hot and if you put too long will explode so always but a paper towel over bowl. I don't have a poacher but now that I know will look for one.

Cooking eggs in the microwave requires skill, dedication and perseverance. It will take you a while to master the technique. Until then you'll be cleaning out your microwave a lot after the big kaboom, but it is possible to learn this skill. I've been nuking my eggs for a long time and I haven't had an explosion in years.

    OMG...I do this almost daily! Takes 1.5 minutes...take a mug...spray with Pam...crack egg...I use a mini whisk to scramble it...nuke it 30 seconds...take it out...turn it a litte..nuke for 30 more seconds...Best....breakfast....ever..

ETA: if you stop at 30 seconds..turn...and then nuke for 30 more seconds, you will minimize the egg blow up...

also..this is for 1 egg..add 30 seconds for each additional egg.

I tried out one of them for the first time this morning and it was awesome and the clean up was way easier than scrambling eggs on a stove!

I hate cleaning up the bowl after I make an egg in the microwave, so I use paper bowls. When I'm done, toss that sucker in the trash. My microwave has a scrambled egg setting, so it stops every so often so you can stir them. Works great!!

From the South Beach Diet cookbook, you can also make "Faux" French toast by adding in a 1/4 th cup fat free ricotta cheese, a dash of cinnamon, and a drop of vanilla. It is yummy!!!! (Plus gluten free which is important for me.)

I have one of those microwave omelet things and it works great - I tend to use egg whites (in a carton) for it, though...it's just a little easier.
