Pulling myself out from underneath the rubble

Good morning😊. It’s been a few years since I’ve been here, and so much has happened.
My kids dad passed away suddenly not long after I began my weight loss attempt two years ago. Unfortunately it put me into a deep depression which also had a direct impact on my weight. It will be two years next month since he passed, and I’m determined to not allow his passing to further bury me. I need to pull myself out of this, and get back to where I used to be-happy and healthy. It’s not going to be easy, and I’m terrified, but for my girls, it needs to happen.

Admitting that your are terrified and it will be a *kitten* of an uphill climb is a great start. That is the part no one really wants to look at and then move past. Great start, you can do it!

Hey Trish. Lets lose those pounds! Whats your goal?1

Thank you😊. I don’t have a specific weight goal just yet. Right now, I’m more focused on being comfortable in my own skin-looking in the mirror, and being able to fit into my clothes better. I’ll figure out a goal weight soon.0

Hi Trish! I am 42 years old and want to lose 20 lbs by March, but I decided to start by not weighing myself and obsessing about the scale every day. The first 4-6 weeks, I’m focusing on my eating and workout habits and feeling better in my own skin. I don’t want every little bump on the scale to derail me. I’d be happy to support you on your journey. You can definitely do this. You’re stronger than you know and just coming here, saying you’re ready to start, and making that commitment to yourself is a HUGE step. You’ve got this! Feel free to add me and send me a message if you’d like some encouragement.1

Thank you so much! This will be the first time that I try this approach-ignoring the scale. But I figure that I know, just by how I feel and how my clothes fit, whether or not I’m succeeding in this journey. I’m excited to see where both of us end up! You’ve got this😊0
