Couldnโ€™t you hire a Personal Trainer for a couple of sessions?

Every gym I have belonged to offers a couple of free orientation sessions with a personal trainer. Usually one is a fitness assessment and then the second is discussing specific exercises and how to properly use the equipment. If you have a couple of options for gyms, that is one thing to look for when choosing.

what they said above re getting a gym PT to show you around.

but also, go onto bodybuilding.com for example and you can download workouts from there and then watch on YouTube how to actually perform the moves - Scott HErman Fitness is a great channel. BUT - you REALLY should learn the basics from an actual proper trainer person because of form being so important.

Honestly, just check youtube or other reputable websites with LOTS of good information on on proper form or workout routines. PT's sessions (if they are free) are also good if you are new to a gym and just want to get familiar, just remember their job is not to get you healthy and then have you leave, but to sell you a product of continuous services to make money. Yes, sure, some see it differently and will push you to succeed, but most don't and will gladly take your money and not challenge you.

Can you share a list of the machines available to you? That would make it easier for people to suggest which ones to use.
