First of all, I named this thread simply because of the other thread with someone happy about losing weight in the their boobs. So, yay for both of us getting where we want...in different ways, lol!!!

Second, I don't understand how this happened. I've always thought that when you lose weight, the boobs went with it because that tissue is mainly fat anyway. Maybe I had a growth spurt at age 32???

Anyhow, I've always been a small, very petite, itty bitty even, chested woman. :blushing:

But when I was on my honeymoon, there was one night when we went out to a really nice restaurant, and being self conscious as it is, I decided to where a nice push-up bra in what has been my size for the longest time. Well, I knew immediately that it didn't fit right. Of course this made me MORE self-conscious thinking that I shrank. I've been wearing sports bras since that day, since size small fits me just fine.

And then someone posted this website a few days ago:

http://www.atlastravel.nazwa.pl/mini/

I went there, measured myself, and then laughed my rear end off as it said I was supposed to be wearing a C cup. Um...I've ALWAYS been in an A or even an AA depending on the brand. Well, off to Victoria's Secret I went today, totally annoyed and flustered. They measured me. They said 36B...the website said 34C, and those are technically the same thing anyway... So I tried on lots of different ones waiting until last to try that 34C. Which, um, fit perfectly???

So I have no idea how...where they came from...what the heck happened...but after 32 years of life I finally feel...female.   Which is very odd since I am losing weight and inches all over! And no, before you mention it, I am NOT pregnant. I know that for a fact, lol.

So...if you have any questions or doubts or whatnot about the size you are wearing, definitely go to that website and see. It made me a happy girl.

    Checking this out, thanks! :)
  • AWESOME! i'd be happy being a 36C- don't get me wrong, i love my size but i'm really worried about saggy boobs. a lot of ladies have told me their boobs started to sag as they lost weight... i'm a 40D right now although that site said i'm a 38DDD? i guess that would be why i snap the underwire in my bras after 2 months.

I went to that site & it says I'm a 38G?!?! I don't see how that could be right. I guess I've been having problems because my underbust is getting smaller but not my bust.

So, I went looking for other sources.

    I found this site : http://brasizecalculator.net/
    It says I'm a 40D - that sounds a little more accurate- I can't even imagine what a G cup looks like

    that site just told me i'm a 40.5 B???

    * Breast spillage: A properly sized bra should cover the entire breast and no breast tissue should be spilling or budging out. If you are overflowing your bra, try a larger cup size.

    * Bra puckering: A wrinkled cup is a sure sign that your bra is a bit too big , you need to try a smaller size bra cup.

what if i have both these problems? lol

I'm sorry to burst your bubble but I really dont think the calculator is correct.

    I usually wear a 40 E (Or 42 DD) in UK size- this says I'm a 40 H!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never in a million years am I a H cup- they are big but not HUUUUUUUGE.

a lot of people are freaked out by the sound of a large cup size, but in actual fact, most people could do with going down a band size or two and up a cup size or two. It makes for a much better fit, looks better and supports better.

Just measured and it gave me the exact size I wear. Got to have my daughters try it because I am not sure we are getting them the right sizes.

also cup sizes are different according to the band size. A 30F is much smaller in the cup than a 36F

Bahahaha! This says I would wear a 32DD... I currently wear a 34-36C (which yes, is getting too big, but the band still feels tight, I don't know HOW in the WORLD I could go with a 32band! haha! I shall have to go try this tho! :D

because a different size would fit differently. Bras arent made with a set cup size and a set band size, so just because a 32 might be too tight in a C cup, doesnt mean it would be too tight in a DD.

If i wear a 30F it fits perfectly, but i bet if i tried a 30A i wouldnt even get it round me

When the girl at VS measured me I ended up with a completely different band and cup then what I was wearing for years. She had me go down 4 in the band and up 1-2 in the cup. I still prefer only 2 down in the band as I don't like it to feel so tight. A lot of styles run differently in how they fit too. Not my favorite thing to shop for that's for sure! ha

I went yesterday and got measured for a new bra I thought the girls shrunk. I always thought I was a C cup. I was wrong. At one store they said I needed a Double D.:noway: Then I went to another store to see if that was right.:embarassed: Well sure enough my girls are a Double D. I did lose 4 inches around when they measured me. So I bought two new homes for the girls.:blushing:

you should! i currently wear a 32D and the band size makes a huuge difference, its a thousand times more stable, i used to have alot of problems with jiggling and falling out and never really feeling like anything was being held in place untill i went to a lower band size, according to this website im supposed to be a 30G but i live in a small town and the victorias secret closest to me only had 3 bra's in a 32 and none in a 30, so logisticly, it is difficult to go down to a band size that actually fits.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Victoria's Secret pretty much has their own sizes, which are usually bigger than you actually are. I know people who work there :)

There is NO WAY that thing is correct... I have been wearing 42 D for quite some time now.... That says I'm a DDD

    That is IMPOSSIBLE!

A large majority of women in the world are wearing the wrong size bra. Most places will put you in a wider band and smaller cup to accomodate you. I ALWAYS thought I was a 36 C/D when I was a size 8. I've lost a lot of weight already and had to buy knew ones and went from a (hold your breath) 42G down to a 36K. Yes ladies I said K. I went down in the band size and WAY UP in the cup size. I'm currently in a 16 and thus have surmised that I was wearing the wrong size for a long time. If you live anywhere near a store called Intimacy and are larger-GO THERE, they do a great job. Otherwise I recommend finding a store that carries Panache (they are from England) cuz if they carry those they'll most likely be able to fit you better. OH and they do come in pretty sizes for the larger girls too!

  • I have went up a cup size. lol. wow the one place that i want to loose it and i dont. Im not a very wide person and my 36 Ds look big already and have been spilling out of my cups a little lately. the website said that i am a 36 DD.

I've been wearing 36As and Bs my whole life. The calculator put me at a 34C and I didn't really believe it. Went to the store tried some on...the band was SO much better, but my chest was pancaked into those Cs. Tried a 34D (in shock the whole time), and it fit perfectly.

Tried multiple other 34Ds and all fit great. Shocking moment, but totally happy to have bras that fit way better and more comfortably. :) (my band measurement was really 33 which I think accounted for the difference of C vs D.)
  • smaller back equals larger cup size... in my case.

Yes, I agree. There is the commonly held idea that a DD is sooo biiig, but it's not, or maybe on some people that looks big, others, not so much. I was sized at Nordstroms and the woman used her eyes and measuring tape to fit me, unlike V.Secret - they just slot you into one of the 4 or 5 sizes they carry. So the woman sized me at E when I always thought I was a B. I can see that the proper size fits so much better... I look thinner when I wear the right sized bra, I don't look like I have big boobs. I don't tell people my size (well, it would only come up among girlfriends) because they don't believe me - I don't look like "the idea" of an "E".
  • I've also gone up a cup size even though I've lost weight. I think I have a lot of breast tissue and not so much fat in my boobs. gone from 36E to 36F
