Celexa and weigh gain

Ok I know that I will an influx of haters to this post. If you are not or have not gone through this as a side effect , feel free to exit the post. I was always fit for the last 15 years. I majored in exercise science. I cook my foods from scratch and weigh my foods with a digital scale. I took antidepressants two times in my life and each time I gained ALot of weight. We are talking about 50lbs. First time I the weight didn't start coming off until a year after stopping. During the year of weight gain, I was in Navy bootcamp and exercising 7 days a week, eating 1200 calories. I eventually lost all the weight. Then a doctor put me on ANOTHER antidepressants, celexa. A few months after starting I ballooned up again. I gained 55lbs despite measuring my foods on a digital scale, eating 1200-1400 calories, exercising 6 days a week. I can't lose weight and I have been off the meds for some while. I have tried everything from low carb, healthy from scratch cooking, calories counting, starving, heavy weight lifting with HIIT. I just want to cry. Anyone go through this ???? Please tell me what you did to get through this. I am litterally about to have a breakdown.

I have had med-related weight gains in the past. I finally just decided that medication was not the way I was going to solve my mental health issues and I went searching for other answers. The meds all have unwanted (by me) side effects. I've been off all meds for many years and find that I don't need them. I learned other ways to deal with life.
I think if meds are causing you this much angst/problems, maybe medication isn't a great solution? I'll never take psyche meds again.0 -

I've been at a healthy weight for eleven years.
I logged all my food and stayed below my calorie needs. Have you tried logging everything using a food scale? It's possible you have been making errors in your food logging. Meds in themselves don't cause weight gain, but lack of movement, sleeping a lot, general depression can.
I gained nearly 80 pounds while on Rx meds. I can't say that the meds were the issue since I wasn't keeping track of my food during that time. But I was having a lot of life issues and I was self-medicating with alcohol and sugary/fatty foods. Getting my head straight was the key. Then I got off the meds and started logging food and exercise here. Stopped drinking and started eating well.1 -

Okay, you said you're using a food scale and logging? Are you still doing that? How much weight do need to still lose? 55 pounds? How long have you been logging religiously? Have you lost any weight?
Have you had blood work done? Could be something other than what you are thinking.1 -

Yes for 15 years. I am obsessed with it.0 -
can you open up your food diary so someone else can take a look - typically weight gain from medication results from increased water weight or increased appetite - so if you were to come off the medicine, those variables are removed0
