Gluten free for a month and gained weight

I've gained about 10 to 12 lbs in the last 4 months. I noticed weight gain when switching to a new anxiety medicine, so I weaned off it and have been off for about 1.5 months and shortly after I went gluten free due to a gluten sensitivity. I am feeling better but am continuing to gain weight. I dont really do gluten substitutes at all. It's starting to get me down on myself. When I went gluten free about a yr ago I lost 8 lbs.

Is it normal to gain weight even though I've cut back my food and meal choices? I am going for bloodwork tomorrow to be sure.

Just looking to vent and for support.

Are you eating in a deficit because what matters most is calories eaten?

You need to start tracking your intake, or all you will be doing is second-guessing yourself.

You need to calculate a modest deficit. Track. And use a food scale. Try to hit your number.

The FODMAP diet works well with s gluten free diet for me. It helps to identify foods that are difficult to digest causing bloating.

I’ve been gluten free for 13 years due to Celiac. There’s nothing inherent about the gluten free diet that would cause weight gain, it all comes down to calories. I would suggest tightening up your logging and give it a few weeks.
