3 weeks is really not alot of time. I am 44. I start really noticing changes after 6-8 weeks. The changes I notice in the beginning are small things, an most of the time non-visual. Things like being less winded after a workout, feeling less bloated, having more energy during the day. These are the main things I notice during the first month.

Keep at it. Consistency is the biggest factor when you are starting out. Remember it's a lifestyle change. Think long term

WW has gone downhill lately. Way too restrictive. Calorie counting is the way to go (I did WW in the past, and recommend MFP over it since I actually learned how it all works from reading the forum - from knowledgeable people).

It took me a month before I saw any fat loss. Keep logging and don't give up!
  • Thanks all. Nice to know it should work soon I'm defiantly not giving up. I'm actually enjoying the gym way to much. I'm going to measure today and re measure every month hopefully I will see a difference there if no weight

Take pictures too. I take pictures in the same clothes every 3 weeks. I don't feel/see much difference in daily life, but those pictures held up side by side, tell a very different story.

Also make sure you are weighing your solid and semi-solid foods on a food scale, in grams, to get the most accurate calorie count.

Generally speaking, and without a lot of details being given, I would guess a combination of water retention and logging issues.

Your diary is set to private so we can't troubleshoot it. Have looked into the common food logging errors and made sure that you aren't running into any of them?

If the exercise is new, your body will hold onto extra water to help cushion and repair sore muscles. This shows up as a bump or a stall on the scale, but it's really masking whatever weight loss is happening in the background. It should taper off after 3-4 weeks as your body gets used to the new routine.

More details and/or setting your diary public for a bit might help us figure out exactly what's happening, but mostly it's going to be patience and really looking into how you're logging food to be sure it's accurate.

Don't forget to stretch. That should help with the tight, sore muscles. I know I pay big time if I don't stretch. Sun salutations are a great place to start.

The fact that you immediately launched into your exercise and gym routine and your diet warranted barely a cursory mention indicates to me that you might be focusing on the wrong thing.

The vast majority of weight loss (75%-85% are commonly seen figures) comes in the kitchen not the gym. I (and many others here) lost loads of weight without stepping into a gym or doing a structured fitness program. I'm not saying that exercise doesn't help a little bit with weight loss but as the saying goes "you can't outrun your fork".

If you're enjoying your exercise and gym time then that's great. Focus on improving your fitness, strength and conditioning while in the gym and focus on your calorie intake for weight loss.

    G'luck.
