Macros consumed and calories consumed don't match

I am 20 grams under my protein goal, 14 grams over my carb goal and 3 grams over my fat goal. However my calorie count says I'm 288 past my daily goal. How is this possible given I've only really exceeded my fat goal by 3 grams?

The primary causes of this type of mismatch are using erroneous entries and rounding on the part of MFP. With the latter, it's difficult to get them to be spot on but fortunately unnecessary.

It's all booze free. I think I may look for another tool to use instead of this

Any sugar free foods? Before you give up maybe give the app a chance. Make sure the entries reflect the nutrition information on the package since most of the entries are provided by the members and may not always be correct.

Not all that unusual. Even some food packaging/labels have this issue, so it's not always an MFP problem.

I noticed it most recently with Quest bars. The package label reads:
    fat: 6g
    carbs: 24g
    protein: 21g

    total cals: 180

    Figure that one out...
(I'm guessing they are only counting "net" carbs towards the calorie count)

If it's a rounding error caused by manufacturer labels, you'll likely run into the same problem elsewhere. If it's an error by choosing poor entries in the crowd-sourced database here at MFP, we can give you about a hundred strategies to help fix it. If you want to go elsewhere, that's fine. But if you want to try and troubleshoot what's actually happening to see if we can help, more information would be great.
