had a whippersnapper at the gym the other night look me right in the eye and say "shouldnt you be home baking cookies"...backstory: it was 11 pm....I looked like shizza but had to get my lifts in. He and his buddy were monopolizing the lat pull down so I said...I am going to work in with you two, if thats okay. Then he hits me with the comment. Well, peeps, my retort was not nice at all but effective. His buddy laughed his head off and the smart mouth guy had nothing more to say to this old lady. Had a PR to boot , likely the adrenaline from the exchange. the NSV: do what you gotta do to be true to you.

Lifted this morning with three other guys. The boys were rushing through the deadlifts - I needed more rest time between sets. Told them to leave the trap bar loaded when they were done. Did the cardio workout with them. Went back and did my last work set at 235 before I left the gym.22

Signed up to gym and have been going a couple times a week without severe anxiety attacks! Have PT each week ( never thinking I would go that route) and loving it! My hometown gym is small and I realized mostly women go so I’m getting a lot more comfortable. I have booked 6 sessions with a trainer (used 2) and think this is really the right move for me. I’m hoping at the end of the 6 sessions I’ll feel comfortable enough to carry this through myself!
Pushing past boundaries I’ve never crossed before feels empowering! I’ve been an introvert for many years, so to go past my comfort zone in working out in public has been very rewarding. Even if the “public” hasn’t been more that three people in the gym at any given time, I still feel fantastic30 -

Was told today by a co-worker that my shirt looks more like a dress than a shirt and needs to be retired. I smiled the rest of the day.31

Wow! My husband says his retort in your place would have been, "Shouldn't you be at home eating cookies?" Hard to believe the nerve of some people!15 -
At the end of July I bought a little summery dress from an online shop with no returns. It did zip but was too tight through the torso to look right. Tonight I was getting dressed up to go out and since this is probably close to the last time I can get away with a summery dress until next year, I decided to revisit it - and it fit fine! I've been in maintenance since June and holding pretty much steady, waist isn't measuring any smaller but it's hard to know whether you're being consistent in measuring your waist since so much depends on time of day, what you ate, etc. but apparently my attempt at recomp is having some effect!31

I wearing size 10(UK) jeans today. I forgot that they were size 10 when I bought them, although I did pick up the 12s and try them on and then had to swap them for the smaller size because they didn't fit.
Okay it's M&S so there's certainly some vanity sizing at play, however, this is the first time I've been even able to properly wear a size 10, let along actually find them comfortable enough to buy.26 -
Oh I have another one that I forgot about until I was sorting out my logging for breakfast:
Yesterday I had a KFC (planned and logged). I took the lid off the burger because I didn't want to fill myself up on bread (I'd rather have chips) and then I didn't eat all the chips because I was full. Stopping eating because I am full is very much a new thing for me. Especially if I've logged it. I figure that if I've logged it I might as well eat it, however I'm learning that it's fine to leave the food I don't want to eat, even if I have logged it. It doesn't matter.44 -
I also do that sometimes.Log the food and not eat the full portion,or not eating any of it.Feeling very good about myself thenOh I have another one that I forgot about until I was sorting out my logging for breakfast:

It looks like I’m now into a size 30” waist jeans and I’m not getting tired as quick when I’m running!31
