Copying and changing a recipe

I would like to know if there is a way to copy an existing recipe that I have created in "my recipes", change/adjust it and save it as a new recipe while keeping the first one. I have tried to do this several times but have not been successful. I have some recipes that I change up depending on what I have on hand and do not want to redo the recipe or lose the first one. Thanks for any help!

You would probably have to input the ingredients again, change the name up a little then save it.0
