Love the fact my weight has not changed in 12 months since strength training but have lost inches and body fat. A friend has introduced me to pilates recently so the next challenge is core and flexibility.

What has your training consisted of and how many inches have you lost?

Pilates will definately help with core and flexibility. Before I started doing Pilates a few years ago, was very inflexible and core was weak. Pilates has helped to improve both as well as my posture.

Went back to gym about 18 months ago doing cardio and swimming. Then been lifting for about 12 months with a friend training me properly. 3 to 4 days lifting a week - chest and bicep / back and shoulders / legs and triceps / core. Time under tension at 15 reps 70-80% of max load. Waist down to 35" from 40" / still got my belly though but guess its taking longer than the young kids doing this - am 48 next birthday.

You actually train for muscular enhancement and fitness. Fat loss comes down to you diet. One could do everything right training and still not lose body fat if they aren't in a calorie deficit.

Agree there - just very difficult to cut below and enter CD - average about 2,500 cals per day - with sedatory work (circa 7,500 steps p/d NEAT). 235lb and 6'5" so works out I should sit at 2,200 cal per day to cut / 2,500 to maintain. #OccasionalBingeDrinker #English

Setting up your basic macro split (P/C/F) and scanning everything you eat works for me. I eat poridge am / mostly have ready made rice and drained tuna for lunch, evenjng meal of whatever I get, and suppliment with Protein shakes. If your lifting dont forget your l-glut and creatine. And use more energy than you consume to create resuced cal ballance. IIFYM web site can help macro split.
