Do you restrict all week after a binge or just start again ?

The times that I find myself binge eating, I either didn't get enough sleep the previous night or I didn't eat enough protein during the day. So I let myself have whatever it is I'm craving for the night, forgive myself for it/not beat myself up and just get right back on track the next day. I have found that when you remove the emotional guilt and stress of it, it makes it much easier to get back on track (in my experience).

I don't restrict all week after overeating. I'll usually eat fewer calories in the days after, but I don't fixate on intentionally eating less, because I'm happy to lose weight slowly. I don't consider it starting again, as my plans are long term and I'm eating on a lifelong timeline. I think of a binge as a spike on that timeline. As long as I don't have too many of those spikes, I'm good.

Have you considered that being over-restrictive might be the cause of your binges?
