PB2 (powdered peanut butter)... Any good?

Options
I saw this mentioned on another post and was curious. Apparently PB2 is a powdered peanut butter that you mix with water (or jelly or honey) to reconstitute. It's only about 50 calories for 2 tbsp compared to regular peanut butter which has 180-200 calories for the same amount. I'm thinking of trying it, but would like to hear some opinions on it before I spend the money (I hear you have to order it online because it's hard to find in stores.)

Has anyone tried this?

BTW - I just reconstitute with water.

It's amazing! Great to put in smoothies and homemade sweets and stuff, too!

I can't really eat it alone; it has a slightly burnt aftertaste and I despise that taste of burnt food. But it's really good when added to a smoothie or even with jelly on a sandwich.

I use it in my protein shakes and love its flavor But, I don't really care for it mixed with water to use as a spreadable peanut butter.

I like it. The flavor is good, the texture not so much. Don't try to use it on toast.

This is good as a dip (apples) or in a smoothie or (my personal fave) in oatmeal.

Netrition.com is the same price as Bell Plantation. But, Netrition has cheaper shipping and allows you to buy just one or two jars. I also purchased Better'n Peanut Butter from Netrition (no Trader Joes in my area) - this is also low cal peanut butter option. Better'n PB is ok, I can use it on toast.

I LOVE IT. But I only use it as flavoring (like in my protein shakes) and not as a PB replacement - only because I neeeeeeeed chunky peanut butter in my life.

I have read about this and heard all about it on here! It sounds delightful (I speak as someone who regularly finds a way to get peanut butter into my calorie count per day!) However, I live in the UK and it is only available by mail order from the US. It has to be shipped in quite a large load and shipping is pricey! Otherwise, I would DEFINITELY be eating it DAILY!!!!

I must try this.... I eat TJ's creamy natural PB pretty much every day (it's great on a multigrain waffle or double fiber English muffin with honey and cinnamon sugar, just sayin') but I'm sick of vanilla protein powder so this would be an excellent alternative in smoothies! Thanks for posting all the great tips!

It is sooo amazing!!! It's not nearly as creamy as regular peanut butter, but when trying to watch calories it's perfect!!! I ordered mine online, but have started seeing it at my local Dillon's and HyVee!!! :)
